Free Choice (90 minutes)
Children are free to visit our learning centers and play/explore the materials. Teachers are actively engaged
in facilitating this process and guiding social behavior.
Clean Up
A child flashes
the lights to signal the transition to clean up. Children are encouraged to take care of their school and be responsible
for tidying up.
Science or Cooking (20 minutes)
We are all scientists and have questions. We test our ideas in small groups and record our findings.
We use our senses and observation skills to work through a variety of experiments and recipes.
Snack
We
are a peanut/nut free school. We provide snack daily, always including a fresh fruit or vegtable.
Group Meeting (30 minutes)
The children gather in the reading corner to sing songs, recite poems, listen to a story and participate in guessing
games. The children practice their ability to attend and participate in a large group activity.
Outside Play (30 minutes)
We go outside year round. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we do music and movement inside to exercise
and release our energy.
Lunch & Play
Children bring their
lunches and stay for some extra play, reading and crafts.
Rest Time (1:00 - )
Some
children relax on their individual mats and others sleep in our nap area with teacher supervision.
Departure
Children gather their projects and backpacks and are checked out by a teacher as they're re-united with their
parents. Parents can inquire about their child's day at this time.
